BLENDING MATH & IMAGINATION Jeffrey Wong, artist alias JFREE (to avoid the "John Smith" of Asian names), is equally left & right brained -- physically evident with left & right-handed ambidexterity. As an only child with separated parents, the living room TV, imaginary friends, and imaginary enemies were his constant companions. His simultaneous logical & artistic thinking resulted in a Bachelor of Science in Business from UC Riverside and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising & Graphic Design from Art Center College of Design. A figure drawing instructor at Art Center had divulged "the secret to great figure drawing." And as the sole student in one advertising class, another instructor divulged "the secret to great advertising." JFREE was recruited into the world's largest ad agency, Ogilvy & Mather (Los Angeles), as an Art Director, Storyboard Artist, and Copywriter. With Jaguar, Mattel, Kraft Foods, Wahoo's Fish Taco, and Motorola as clients. While there, JFREE theorized that "the secret to great screenwriting" must exist. He attended UCLA to seek it. The instructor, Andy Guerdat, surprisingly divulged it on the fourth week of class. And it was the exact same secret to great figure drawing. JFREE combined this knowledge into an infographic to visually explain the "perfect script." That infographic is now used to teach Intro to Screenwriting at UCLA. And has been replicated by screenwriting sites and Instagrams such as No Film School and Screenplay.Tips.

Combining his art and business training, JFREE has refined his screenplay planning system into a proprietary graphical "accounting" chart. This results in a perfect-as-possible script, blending math & imagination, without guesswork. This "accounting" approach also makes creative collaboration easy to discuss and implement. JFREE is also a former Alpha-tester for Adobe Systems apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. He creates pitch decks, show bibles, and logos with the quality of the best graphic design firms in the world. He actually provided Adobe support to these firms. Whereas most screenwriters pay several thousand for pitch deck services, JFREE is a fully self-contained screenplay & design studio.
